Tanveer Alam: Kathak

Toronto Kathak artist Tanveer Alam performs at the Roundhouse Performance Centre, 181 Roundhouse Mews. Alam trained with Sudeshna Maulik, Sandhya Desai, Pandita Shama Bhate, and Sanjukta Sinha, and now works with Harikishan S. Nair and Dheerendra Tiwari. Alam has danced at the New York Kathak Festival, Fall For Dance North, the Aga Khan Museum, and the Vasantotsava Kathak Festival in New Delhi, and holds the Eldred Family Protégé award from the Ontario Arts Foundation. Mandala Arts and Culture Society presents the show with the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre. It closes a weekend of Indian classical dance that opens on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30 PM with Bharatanatyam by Meera Sreenarayanan.
